An Amateur Chess Tournament Was Held at AANL

On July 21, an amateur chess tournament was held at the A. I. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (AANL), bringing together members of the Laboratory’s staff.

The tournament was played under the Swiss system with a 5+0 time control. In a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to test their skills and demonstrate their abilities.

Chess has long held an important place in AANL’s scientific life and culture. As early as the time of Academician Artem Alikhanyan, chess tournaments were regularly organized at the Laboratory, and this initiative became another important step in continuing that tradition.

The winner of the tournament was Professor Norayr Akopov, Head of the HTF Division, who achieved the best result during the competition.

We congratulate Professor Akopov on his victory and thank all participants for their active involvement, engaging games, and the warm atmosphere they helped create.
