The laser is used as a photon source in the Radio Frequency Timer (RF Timer) device to generate photoelectrons from the cathode.
It is used in research conducted within the framework of the Science Committee project “Sensor for Measuring the Lifetimes of Quantum States in Nanostructures with Picosecond Accuracy” and the ISTC AM-2803 project “Radio Frequency Timer based Electron, Photon and Heavy Ion Detectors.”
